The new game is reportedly developed by Sumo Digital and published by 2K as part of its agreement with the LEGO company. The game was leaked after user JammyBoi64 posted the link to the store accompanied by the artwork that was seen on the listing.

Although the page was already removed by the online store, the leak revealed LEGO mini-figures in a soccer game. According to the leaker, the game will be released across PS4 and PS5 consoles. Moreover, it will also be available through online and offline play.

While fans still have to wait for LEGO's official announcement, LEGO 2K Goooal! rumors have been around for quite some time now. Last June, there were reports that the game was already under the Korean rating board. Regardless, the accidental posting of the game could be a hint that the game's release is already on its way. With the holiday season approaching, it seems to be a perfect time to launch.

Concerns With LEGO Games

LEGO has been trying to diversify its game catalog by releasing various games with different themes featuring the beloved mini-figures. Last May, LEGO 2K Drive was released to the public. However, the game received mixed reactions upon its launch. Fortunately, the game still got positive reviews as it successfully placed itself as a family-oriented game.

On the other hand, there have been concerns about 2K's monetization process. The possibility of in-app purchases similar to the previous game seems inevitable. However, fans can still hope for an improvement until the game is officially launched.

In 2022, it was reported that 2K secured three licenses with LEGO. Two of the licenses are now used to create 2K Drive and 2K Goooal! As of writing, the company still has one game left before it runs out of LEGO license.
