Elon Musk is now claiming that X (formerly Twitter) has "the least amount of antisemitism" compared to other social media competitors.
Musk, who shared antisemitic content on his account before, is confident that antisemitic posts are considerably fewer on X than any other sites despite having 600 million active users every day.
The billionaire cited platform audits as proof of his claim. He, however, did not provide further details regarding the "outside audits," including who conducted them and when.
The statement was made as the billionaire is visiting Auschwitz in Poland where 1.1 million Jews died during the Holocaust. Musk, during his visit, even claimed he is "aspirationally Jewish."
Musk has been expressing support towards Jewish people and the Israelis amid the conflict in Gaza after multiple major brands stopped advertising on X.
Calls Against Israel Surges on X
Musk's statement about antisemitic content on X comes in as the internet has started calling for boycotts in protest against Israel's actions on Gaza and the Palestinians.
Several accounts have used the protest to further amplify pro-Nazi and antisemitic posts online, while some used the call to attract engagements.
Many pro-Palestine accounts are also being labeled as antisemitic amid calls for a ceasefire on the ongoing air raids on the Gaza strip.
As of writing, over 25,000 Palestinians have been reportedly killed as the Israeli Defense Forces continue to shell refugee camps in search of the rebel group Hamas.
X, for its part, has started rolling out more Community Posts to mitigate hate speech with varying success.
Advertisers Still Not Back on X
Amid Musk's recent actions, many brands that joined the "Advertiser Exodus" have yet to return their ads on the site.
Previously inactive accounts like Disney and affiliated companies have started posting again but have not run sponsored posts on the platform since Musk insulted them.
The platform has since then reported greater revenue loss from its advertising sales. CEO Linda Yaccarino remains confident that the crisis the platform is currently facing now is temporary.
