One of the most exciting parts about buying a new TV is finally setting it down and marveling at your new screen. However, there are a couple of factors to consider to make sure that you have the best viewing experience, and here are some of them.
1. Room Layout
Of course, you have to consider where your other furniture is. For instance, you would want to place your TV where it can be viewed by all the available seats. Otherwise, you'll find yourself racing for the best spots when during movie nights with the family. Usually, the best place is at the center of your couch set, provided that it is symmetrical.
2. Mounting
The TV unit you purchase will come with a TV stand, but you don't always have to use them. In fact, the best placement for a TV is by mounting it on the wall. There are other factors to consider such as the kind of wall you're mounting it on. Mounting your TV will lessen the likeliness of accidents like bumping into the unit resulting in the TV falling on the floor.
3. Outlet Proximity
TV cords are shorter than most would like, meaning that you have to position it near an outlet if you don't want the extra wires from an extension. Mount or place your TV near an outlet as much as you can without compromising the view. If you have no other choice, then you can purchase an extension with surge protection to avoid damage from outages.
4. Proximity
What a lot of people miss is that the proximity of your TV should also depend on its size, just as you would avoid the front-row seats at the cinema. If you can't adjust the distance of your TV since you're mounting it on a wall, you can always adjust the position of your furniture, again, accounting for the size of the TV as you do.
5. Lighting
Your TV's display will be affected by the lighting in your room or space. The general idea is that the darker it is, the better you'll see a crisp output. While there's very little you can do with the already installed lighting in your home, the best you can do is place your TV away from a light source. This will help you avoid glares. The same goes for what's directly in front such as windows.

6. Height
The height at which you mount or place your TV will affect the level of comfort you'll experience while watching. Positioning it too low or too high will hurt your neck in the long run, and you won't get the optimal display. The rule of thumb is that you should place it at eye level or slightly lower, especially since some screen types don't do well with indirect angles.
7. Ventilation
We don't really go near our TVs that much, so we don't feel the heat it emits which reminds us that they can overheat. If you can, put your TV in well-ventilated places, or at the very least, keep it away from heat sources like the fireplace or radiators. An overheated TV might be pricey to fix if it can be fixed at all.
