Ubisoft’s XDefiant is Having Server Troubles Shortly After Release

After facing so many delays, Ubisoft's online first-person shooter game is finally here. It has only been a say and you can already watch streams of gamers online playing it. But, not everyone is as lucky some have to wait for a while before they can enter a match.

XDefiant Servers Are Overloaded

It's pretty standard for a new game to have many players flock to it since they would want to see how good it is, but it appears that XDefiant's servers can't match the attention it's getting as players say that they spend a long time in lobbies.

XDefiant is already expected to have a large player base, especially since the game is available on several platforms such as the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. It's also a free online FPS game, so it's not hard to see why an influx of players is bound to happen.

The waiting times to enter a match can get frustrating, especially since players have been met with delays several times before the release. Initially titled Tom Clancy's XDefiant, the game was first announced in 2021, as per Kotaku, so it has been a long three-year wait.

Ubisoft is aware of the problem. Using the game's official account on X, the company said that they are already looking into servers and matchmaking, so players can expect the problem to be resolved soon, and allow them to get into matches much faster.

It's sad to say that this is a pretty common problem for online multiplayer games. Helldivers 2 had a similar problem, where people said that they were unable to go on missions since the servers were already full, although this has since been fixed.

On the bright side, XDefiant being unable to accommodate all the players quickly means that it's getting the attention that Ubisoft is hoping for. Hopefully, Ubsifot can fix the problem as soon as possible so that everyone can have a positive experience with the game.

Ubisoft Has Its Hands Full

It's a very busy time for Ubisoft this month as XDefiant's release is not the only thing it is juggling at the moment. The spotlight is also pointing to its upcoming games from the popular franchise of Assassin's Creed.

Previously referred to as Assassin's Creed Red, the game is now called Assassin's Creed Shadows and has revealed its playable characters. Set in feudal Japan, the game follows a shinobi named Naoe and a samurai named Yasuke.

After revealing that the male protagonist is in fact a Black samurai, people had a lot to say about it. Although Yasuke is based on a real person, people argue that the samurai being anything other than Japanese is inaccurate, and that's from a game franchise where Minotaurs and magic artifacts exist.

According to Dexterto, Yasuke is based on a person named Oda Nobunaga, who was a prominent warlord in the era where the game is set. He was the first black samurai, and it's this uniqueness that makes him perfect for the role of a protagonist.
