People have been worried that AI would take over their jobs, but they never really thought about AI telling them what job to do. With the new service Asana offers, companies can have an AI distribute tasks among their employees without lifting a finger.

Asana's 'AI Teammate'
The company has already offered services and features that allow businesses to run more smoothly. In fact, its purposes include allowing leaders to delegate tasks by assigning them to teams or employees. With the AI function, there's less work to be done in the delegation process.
Asana said during a press release that the AI model will be able to analyze stored information to make better decisions. It will consider historical relationships and past projects to see which teams would be the best fit.
It also uses the mentioned data to determine which people will work together best, as mentioned in The Verge. For instance, two people with the skillsets that complement each other would be assigned to the project that would benefit from it.
Other than that, AI Teammate is capable of looking for missing information before it responds to a request, effectively streamlining the process instead of sorting out the data first before starting to do the task.
"We're able to do this better than anyone else because we built Asana on the Work Graph, which maps the relationship between the work your team does, the information about that work, and the people doing the work," Asana co-founder Dustin Moskovitz said.
The product has already been tested by a few customers after it was released. Some of the things it managed to do include creating tailored marketing content, translating assets into different languages, as well as standardizing workflows.
AI Teammate comes with a chat feature, which is part of its assistive use. Users will be able to ask through the chat interface about their current project, although it works similarly to customer service than the standard chatbot that has been popularized.
Assistance Over Replacement
It is certainly better to have AI assisting in workflow and project assigning instead of AI doing all the work. This further shows how there's a thin line between artificial intelligence improving businesses and solely using the technology as they lay off workers.
There are several jobs that are already at risk of being taken over by AI, but it is more concerning when it comes to white-collar jobs. We still don't have the AI technology that can replace labor workers, but generative AI can now easily replicate the work of creatives.
Any job that involves dealing with data can now be assigned to AI. Businesses would prefer them since there's very little chance of error, and processing vast amounts of information would be a lot faster and cheaper with a computer doing it. With that said, companies should still consider the ethical side of it all.
