Bethesda’s Starfield is Getting Its First Big Expansion This Year

Xbox Showcase 2024 had a lot of big announcements during the event leaving players with a lot to be excited for. Bethesda Games Studios' biggest IPs are getting an expansion, including one of its latest releases, Starfield.

Starfield: Shattered Space Expansion

The sci-fi game is already massive to begin with, having a thousand planets that players can explore. Now it is adding more content to the game along with new things to discover. It has been almost a year, and Starfield is getting its first major expansion.

The official release states that a mysterious power stirs in the city of Dazra on House Va'ruun's hidden homeworld. Players will have to investigate the cosmic threat by exploring a new planet, where they will find unique weapons, spacesuits, and gear, as per The Verge.

Anyone who has played the game knows that there's already so much players can discover within the game and can easily take hundreds of hours if one is thorough, but new content is always something that players won't pass on.

The Shattered Space expansion, unfortunately, has no definite release date yet, but it won't be long now since Bethesda set a release window of 2024. While waiting to explore the new and darker world, there are other things to keep players busy.

The studio said that there's a new update coming to the game as early as today, which means that players choose to dive right back in if they want. There will be new gear, bounties, and creations that can be installed from the Creations menu.

The trailer looks promising enough, and it will be a change of scenery compared to what players have been used to considering the more ominous tones it has. Despite that, one can argue that the scenery is still easy on the eyes.

Fallout 76 is Also Getting One

The studio has been very busy seeing as it has released not one, but two expansions for its franchises. Other than Starfield, Fallout 76 is also getting an expansion, which means that players will have a new location to explore in the game map.

Unlike the sci-fi game's additional content, the Fallout 76 expansion called Skyline Valley already has a release date, and it is much sooner than players think. With a launch set on June 12th, fans of the wasteland-bound game will have to wait just two days before seeing it.

The new region that features new content is called Shenandoah, where players will explore a new vault, specifically Vault 63, where they will be facing Ghouls as the main enemy, as Engadget reports. That's not the only thing that fans can look forward to.

Although it won't be released on the same date as the expansion, players will be able to play as a Ghoul. The trailer announces that the new option won't be available until 2025, but that can just serve as another reason to dive back into the game once players finish the expansion's storyline.
