An issue in the Amazon Kindle prevents users from downloading new and previously purchased books due to the ongoing outage.
The company has already received the complaint but stated that fixing the issue could take a while.

Amazon Kindle Experiences Outage, Affects Readers
Several users have reported the download issue on the Amazon Forum since July 3. Kindle users shared that their books are failing to download despite having a good Wi-Fi connection.
The downloads will automatically classify as "queued" but will glitch eventually. According to the moderators, the technical team is currently working to resolve the issue.
In addition, the problem seemed to have occurred from server issues, citing that it could take at least 48 hours or more before ebooks would start downloading again.
The outage is also reportedly affecting users who are trying to download files from Overdrive to their Kindle through Libby. Meanwhile, downloading books to iOS and Android Amazon Kindle apps is not affected.
Amazon Kindle Users Report Multiple Issues
Aside from the current outage, Kindle users shared another issue with the "Send to Kindle" feature. The option was supposed to allow documents and ebooks to be sideloaded without plugging them into a computer.
According to affected users, they are receiving error messages upon sending their documents. An email from Amazon stating that their files "could not be delivered due to a service error."
As of writing, some users are still reporting the same situation about the feature along with the recent widespread outage on Kindle downloads.
The download issue is still persistent among Kindle e-readers like Paperwhite, Oasis, Signature Edition, and the Kindle Basic. Meanwhile, the "Send to Kindle" bug is detected among PC and Mac, Chrome extension, and email.
