Public beta versions for the Apple iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and WatchOS 11 can now be downloaded as the iPhone rolls out its much-awaited AI-powered operating systems.
First reported by Engadget, Apple quietly released all of its upcoming device systems on Monday as part of its Beta Software Program for early testers to try the new OS.
It is worth noting that much of the AI-powered features Apple earlier touted on the iOS 18 would not arrive until fall, including its prized Apple Intelligence system.
The iOS 18 is the Most AI-Integrated Device System Apple Ever Had
Ahead of its release, Apple already showcased waves of AI-integrated features on the iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and WatchOS 11 following several partnerships with AI firms.
One noteworthy addition is the improvements the tech giant is set to implement in Siri voice assistant, powered by OpenAI's ChattGPT and Apple Intelligence.
The redesigned Siri assistant will supposedly allow users to navigate various apps and functions, as well as task the assistant to complete several activities, without ever needing to touch the screen.
This is, in addition, the AI-generated emojis and notes feature Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported ahead of its Worldwide Developer's Conference earlier last month.
How to Download Apple iOS 18 Public Beta
To avail of the new iOS version, iPhone users first need to apply to its Beta Software Program through their Apple IDs.
Once enrolled, users can opt to access the iOS beta via the "Software Update" menu in the settings. Users then just need to install the update and reboot their devices to see all the changes Apple has made on the new device systems.
Apple iOS 18 can only be downloaded from iPhone SE (second generation) and later devices.
