The upcoming release of Silent Hill 2's remake is nearing, but it seems that Konami has one more thing up its sleeve in anticipation for the game. The survival horror game's remake will bring some old school spooks and thrills to modern gaming platforms as it will have an element that replicates the original gameplay.

With this new feature, players will be given the retro experience of the PlayStation 2 game but with more profound modernity. 

Konami: New 'Silent Hill 2' Feature Brings Original Retro Experience

The excitement is rising for the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, and Konami has now announced a new feature that will take users back to the original PS2 retro experience. Available on the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms, the "90s filter" will bring an overlay that replicates the 2001 release.

Silent Hill's games are already gloomy and spooky at every turn, and Silent Hill 2 is known for its overwhelming pressure to survive in its version of the netherworld.

However, Konami is ramping things up by providing a filter that will take users back to the original experience, but this time, on bigger screens, better resolution, and improved frame rate.

'Silent Hill 2' Remake is Coming Soon

Silent Hill 2's remake is less than a month away from its release after a long two-year waiting time since Konami first confirmed that a remake is on its way.  The game is now available to pre-order on the PlayStation 5 and Steam (for Windows PCs). Those who pre-order will get to enjoy special offers on its Standard and Deluxe editions.

Silent Hill has been one of the most popular titles in the survival horror genre in the gaming industry, making it one of the most successful and known franchises worldwide since its first release in 1999. Konami has since seen critical acclaim and high praise for the series. 

This is why when the first leaks of Silent Hill 2's remake hit the gaming industry, fans and gamers have since anticipated the title's return. Konami eventually confirmed two years ago that it was working on the remake. Silent Hill 2 has been considered as the best release to ever come out of Konami, which is why this remake gained significant traction since then.
