Motorola Moto Maxx now official as international version of Verizon Droid Turbo

The international version of the Verizon Droid Turbo is now official as the Moto Maxx, set to launch in Brazil and Mexico first.

The Motorola Droid Turbo drew lots of attention since its launch, as it comes with top-notch specs and features all around and a promised battery life of "multiple days." The smartphone launched recently as a Verizon Wireless exclusive in the U.S., but rumors suggested that an international version called the Moto Maxx was en route.

As it turns out, those rumors were accurate and the Moto Maxx is now official, packing the same set of impressive specifications as the Verizon-bound Motorola Droid Turbo.

More specifically, the Moto Maxx boasts a 5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 565 pixels per inch (ppi), and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor paired with Adreno 420 graphics and a hefty 3GB of RAM.

Other specs of the new Moto Maxx include 64GB of internal storage capacity, a 21-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a massive 3,900 mAh battery to keep things up and running. Moreover, the smartphone also comes with Motorola's Turbo charging technology that gives it up to eight additional hours of battery with just a 15-minute rapid charge.

In terms of build materials, the Moto Maxx is made of durable ballistic nylon and DuPont Kevlar fiber to make it more rugged and offer "enduring protection." Motorola has more details on the matter:

"On the outside, Moto Maxx is designed with premium ballistic nylon, a first for the industry. It's a high-quality, durable material with a distinctive texture and rich color - you might recognize it from outdoor gear, like backpacks," the company explains. "Under that, is a layer of DuPont Kevlar fiber, a material that is five times stronger than steel. Moto Maxx is protected inside and out with water-repellent nano-coating and then topped with Corning Gorilla Glass."

Motorola announced that its new Moto Maxx is ready to go on sale in Brazil at first, followed by Mexico in mid-November and other Latin American markets in the coming months. The company has yet to offer more details regarding the global availability of the Moto Maxx, but the smartphone should see a wide release worldwide.
