Bad news for Moto Maxx fans in Europe, as it seems that the smartphone will not make it to this part of the world.
The Moto Maxx recently made its debut as the international version of the top-notch Verizon Droid Ultra, which comes with high-end specs and features all around. The handset has already sparked great interest worldwide and is expected to be in high demand, but its success may be limited if it doesn't get a wider availability.
Motorola recently announced that its new Moto Maxx will make its commercial debut in Latin America at first, with other global markets to follow afterwards. As it turns out, however, it seems that the handset will not enjoy the wide global rollout many were hoping for.
The news comes from Motorola's French Twitter account, which confirmed that the Moto Maxx will not be available in Europe. More specifically, a tweet from the French Motorola branch suggested that the Moto Maxx will not be making its way to the country. After further inquiries, the company confirmed that the entire continent, not just France, will miss out on the Moto Maxx.
"This smartphone will unfortunately not be available in Europe," reads a translation of the tweet.
It remains unclear at this point just why Motorola would choose to leave such a large market out of the loop when releasing its much-touted Moto Maxx. The smartphone would surely enjoy great success in many European countries, but we may never find out.
Motorola has yet to provide an official list of all the markets and countries set to get the Moto Maxx, and specific dates for when each country will get it. The only thing that seems certain at this point is that the Moto Maxx will not be making its way to Europe, at least not in the near future. Motorola may change its mind at some point in the future and ultimately release the smartphone in Europe as well, but for now this market is not in the cards.
In the U.S., meanwhile, the Moto Maxx is available as the Droid Turbo, exclusively through Verizon Wireless.
