BlackBerry Classic promotional clip leaks ahead of official unveiling on Dec. 17 (VIDEO)

The BlackBerry Classic smartphone is very close to its official debut and a promotional video has now leaked ahead of the unveiling.

Despite BlackBerry's notable decline, having lost significant ground to rivals on the smartphone market, BlackBerry handsets still stir plenty of interest among consumers and industry watchers alike. BlackBerry has been struggling to keep its head above the water for quite some time now and although its latest devices did not see the wide adoption rates the company most likely hoped for, the race is still on. BlackBerry is not ready to give up and continues to make significant efforts to launch attractive new devices. The next handset from the company is called the BlackBerry Classic, and comes with the iconic QWERTY design that is usually associated with BlackBerry smartphones.

BlackBerry is holding launch events for the BlackBerry Classic on Wednesday, Dec. 17, in New York, Singapore, and Frankfurt. Plenty of details about the smartphone have leaked ahead of the formal unveiling, and now a promotional video made its way online to paint a better picture of what to expect.

The video in question comes from N4BB, the same publication that has previously leaked various details about the upcoming BlackBerry Classic. In terms of appearance, as previously mentioned, the smartphone will sport a traditional BlackBerry design, with a four-row QWERTY keyboard.

When it comes to specifications, the BlackBerry Classic is expected to feature a 3.46-inch display with touch support and a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels and pack a 1.5GHz processor under the hood. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter. A 2,500 mAh battery will keep things up and running, while BlackBerry 10.3 OS will handle the software side.

Not too long ago, the BlackBerry Classic went up for pre-order in the U.S., and the first round of pre-orders actually sold out in North America. This suggests that the smartphone may prove to be a popular device for the company, if early sales are any indication.

With just one day to go until the BlackBerry Classic official unveiling, we'll soon have more details about specs, features and availability straight from the source. In the meantime, check out the leaked promotional video below to learn more about the handset.
