The purported Samsung Galaxy S6 has popped up on import-export tracking database Zauba in India, suggesting that it may be ready to debut soon.
Zauba has offered precious hints on upcoming devices several times in the past, and it now seems to herald the arrival of the Galaxy S6. Samsung's next-generation flagship smartphone is one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones of this year and is expected to make its debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in early March.
The Zauba listing in question shows the handset with two model numbers - SM-G920V and SM-G920F - arriving in the country on Jan. 30, 2015 and Dec. 17, 2014, respectively, for testing purposes. The listing also mentions a screen size of 5 inches, but offers no other details.
Based on rumors and reports so far, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to sport a QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and pack a new octa-core 64-bit Samsung Exynos 7420 processor under the hood. Samsung reportedly decided to ditch Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip over some overheating issues.
Other rumored specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 include 3GB of RAM, a 20-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front shooter. Recent whispers have also suggested that Samsung was working on minimizing TouchWiz bloatware in order to allow for a faster and smoother performance.
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to come at least with a metal frame, if not a full metal unibody. In addition to the flagship Galaxy S6, Samsung is also rumored to launch a curved-display variant that may come as the Galaxy S Edge. Unlike the Galaxy Note Edge, this model could have a dual-edge screen.
As previously mentioned, Samsung is expected to take the wraps off its next-generation flagship smartphone at the MWC 2015 trade show in early March, and the handset could go on sale later that month or in early April. It remains unclear at this point whether the Galaxy S Edge would debut at the same time, but most reports hint in this direction.
Either way, it all remains in the rumor state until Samsung makes an official announcement, so make sure to take everything with a grain of salt for now. We'll keep you posted as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
