LG G Flex 2 ready for global rollout in several markets

LG is ready to start rolling out its latest LG G Flex 2 globally, in a number of markets, the company just announced in a new press release.

The LG G Flex 2 made its debut back at CES 2015 in January, and has stirred lots of interest ever since. The handset comes with an intriguing curved body, a self-healing coating, and top-notch specs and features all around, boasting notable improvements compared to its predecessor.

With the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 just around the corner, LG now officially offers more details regarding the global availability of its curve-display LG G Flex 2 smartphone.

"With the world's largest mobile industry event, Mobile World Congress (MWC), set to begin next week in Barcelona, LG Electronics (LG) today announced the global rollout of its eagerly anticipated curved smartphone, G Flex2. Major carriers in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany and the U.K. will be among the first to offer the G Flex2 to lucky customers while key markets in North and South America, Europe and Asia will announce the start of sales in the weeks following MWC," LG reveals in a new press release on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

In other words, while other smartphones will be making their debut just now at the MWC 2015, the LG G Flex 2 will already go on sale, getting a significant head start.

"The G Flex2 shows the world that there's still room for design innovation in today's smartphones beyond just metal frames and larger displays," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "We think the G Flex2 is the perfect example of form and function coming together beautifully. It's a smartphone that people simply won't be able to take their eyes off of."

As a reminder, the new LG G Flex 2 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, a 2GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front snapper, and a 3,000 mAh battery to keep things up and running. The handset will come in two versions - one with 16GB of internal storage capacity and 2GB of RAM, and the other with 32GB of built-in storage and 3GB of RAM. In terms of software, the LG G Flex 2 will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. As expected, the smartphone is also LTE-ready.

When it comes to pricing, the LG G Flex 2 will retail for roughly $200 with a two-year contract, or about $500 full retail price. Sprint, for instance, will offer the handset for $504 on its Easy Pay monthly installment plans.
