Dell Announces Two-in-One 4K Tablet

This week sees a lot of tablet releases. Beginning Tuesday, a variety of tablet devices have made news over the internet as companies have begun unveiling them. In its Windows 10 event, Microsoft has shown the new generation Surface Pro 4 and the company's very first laptop, the Surface Book. Both devices have received many positive responses from internet communities. On Wednesday, Hewlett Packard has also announced its own HP Spectre X2. Reviews have also been good.

Now, it is Dell's turn to make an announcement for the hardware company's own two-in-one device. Dell has unveiled the XPS12, which appears to be another addition to the list of similar tablet-laptop combo devices. What sets Dell's version apart is that it is the first 4K Ultra HD (3,840 x 2,160) tablet-laptop device. The astonishing resolution of the touch-screen display is available only to the more expensive variant of the device.

According to Expert Reviews UK, Dell has also made a lower-resolution version of the XPS12. The lower-specs tablet-laptop has a 1,920 x 1.080 resolution. The differences between the two versions of the device are evidently seen in the color accuracy. Users who need to be particular with the colors may want to opt for the 100 percent offered by the 4K model, as the other variant only gives 72 percent.

The new gadget is powered by the dual-core sixth-generation Intel m5-6Y54 processor and runs at up to 2.7 GHz. Users may choose between a storage size of 128 GB SSD or 256 GB SSD. The DDR3 Memory is a sizable 8 GB. The device has two ports for charging. It also includes a USB Type-C to Type-A adapter for USB-cord devices.

The prices for the new gadgets have not been disclosed as of yet, but they are expected to rival those of the Microsoft devices. The Dell XPS 12 is projected to be released by January next year. Dell has also announced important updates for the XPS 13 and XPS 15. The devices boast an 18-hour battery life. It will be great if the feature is also on the XPS 12.
