The upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to come with a number of new features, including a touchscreen display and an OLED touch bar.
The upcoming high-performance MacBook Pro 2016 will likely be lighter and thinner. The device is expected to be released by Apple later this year.
Apple Insider reports that just last week, the high-tech company made a move perceived by many to be a strong indication that a new generation of MacBook Pro laptops are indeed coming very soon. Apple reportedly started removing its legacy non-Retina MacBook Pro models from authorized retailers' stores and from the displays of Apple stores.
Among the publications that report rumors about the touchscreen display and an OLED touch bar in the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is Android Origin. According to them, the OLED touch bar is expected to replace the traditional function keys. This feature has actually been rumored for a while now, by several technical online publications. A leaked photo came to almost confirm the said feature, showing a casing for the MacBook Pro 2016 with had a slot for the OLED touch bar.
According to VineReport, the talk of a touchscreen feature for the MacBook Pro 2016, on the other hand, appears to be a somewhat newer introduction in the rumor mill. This feature serves as a quicker alternative than using the touchpad and would promote easier access for users choosing apps and programs on their laptops.
The Bit Bag reports that among the changes and new features for the MacBook Pro 2016 are included the addition of a Touch ID feature. This new feature would come with a fingerprint scanner embedded on the touch pad.
Another expected change, according to the same publication, is the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack. However, since most of consumers do not have a Bluetooth headset compatible with the new laptop setup, other tech experts see this change as unlikely.
A Forbes report also confirms that the 2016 MacBook Pro could come with OLED touch bar that replaces physical function keys. Additionally, the report mentions Tunderbold 3 and USB-C support.
More recent rumors reported by the specialized online publication MacRumor suggest that the OLED touch panel could be contextual. As the user moves among different apps, the touch panel buttons would change.
