Nintendo Releases NES Classic Edition: Everything You Need To Know

Despite the advances in technology, there is something about old gaming consoles that still hit the spot for many players. It is not just the feel of larger controllers or the game cartridges, but the games that came with the consoles as well. Many classics have been lost because of tech developments over the years.

Fortunately, Nintendo is bring one classic console back - the Nintendo Entertainment System, or the NES. According to Forbes, it was first released in 1985 and Nintendo will be releasing a miniature version of the same with 20 built in games. While this means that no new games can be added to the system, the entire point of bringing back the NES is to play games that have already passed.

As The Verge adds, the new NES can be connected to any television through an HDMI cable. The controller, while was built to work much like the original, will also be capable of connecting to a Wii Remote. This way, it can be used to play Virtual Console games as well, on the Wii or Wii U.

However, the release of the NES means that nothing will follow the Wii U for a while. The Nintendo NX has been up in the air for a while and should be arriving soon, but it may be an entirely new gaming system altogether.
