Why The Samsung S7 Edge Is Falling Behind The OnePlus 3

In a battle between David and Goliath, the OnePlus 3 has been put to the test next to the Samsung Galaxy S7. Boasting 6GB of RAM, the OnePlus 3 is certainly proving itself in the market, despite its consumer-friendly price.

According BGR, the OnePlus 3 recently received some improvements after its June launch. As a result, the gadget looks like an entirely new phone and is working seamlessly. Of course, the Samsung S7 runs on only 4GB of RAM, so it is technically expected. Still, the public is surprised that the fastest Android phone on the market has been dethroned by a much humbler competitor.

At the start of the test, which is seen below, both the One Plus 3 and the Samsung S7 are keeping up with each other. However, near the end of the first round, the OnePlus device starts to pull ahead. Things become much more evident in the second round, when the devices are tasked to reopen a previously used app. It is indeed evident that the Chinese company worked on the initial RAM management troubles.

With as much as 2GB of RAM less than the OnePlus 3, the Samsung S7 did not do horrifically. In fact, it makes it only more exciting to see what the Korean tech giant can do with the same specs. Fortunately, the public will soon get their chance to see just that. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be running on 6GB of RAM.

PC Mag, however, adds on to the argument that the OnePlus 3 holds more qualities over the Samsung S7. The publication does not deny that the Samsung device is a good looking handset. It does, however, claim that the unit's glass back makes it much more fragile than its competitors.

Further, the OnePlus 3 runs on Oxygen OS, which makes the interface of the unit much simpler. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on Android Marshmallow, which tends to clutter the interface.
