It has long been speculated that the iPhone 7 will be available for purchase starting this fall. However, the release was built on only hunches and wild guesses. But now the public can rejoice at a date that is the closest thing to an Apple confirmation.
The news is coming from Evan Blass, a reputable leaker, who has built a stable reputation. Yahoo! News notes a string of tweets from Blass, which started with him stating the release would come on the week of September 12th. However, this only seemed to confuse everyone and just put them in an excited frenzy. It was unclear whether the week of September 12th would be the launch or just the unveiling. Blass again took to Twitter to settle the public down.
Blass clarified that the release, not the launch, would take place on Friday, September 12th.
As such, the unveiling is likely to happen on the last few days of August, or the first few days of September. After all, Apple's practice has been to schedule the unveiling 10-14 days prior to its actual launch. Further, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s were released on September as well. It is only logical that Apple would follow with a September release for the iPhone 7.
BGR adds, however, that Apple is saving its best upgrades for the iPhone 7S, which may just come out as the iPhone 8. This does not mean, however, that the iPhone 7 will be something that will just go over the heads of the public.
The iPhone 7 Plus, after all, is expected to debut an Apple dual camera system. And from the recent image and video leaks, it is evident that the iPhone 7 series' camera protrudes much more than that of the iPhone 6S. It can only be deduced that the camera sported by the iPhone 7 is even better.
Further, the upcoming flagship will come with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. It is also expected to arrive without the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
