The PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio are two of the most highly anticipated mid-generation gaming consoles. Well, the hype is indeed real, as more fans are looking forward to what these consoles could offer. And sure enough, as what EA claims, these upcoming machines are going to make a huge impact on the industry. Not just that, their existence will make a revolution in which hardware upgrades will permanently replace older console generations.
According to PlayStationLifeStyle, Andrew Wilson, EA's very own CEO, sees both PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio as would-be game changers in digital gaming. During the company's earnings call, Wilson mentioned about the importance of players' liquidity -- something that has been present in the last few decade or so.
Wilson went on to say how PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio will play a massive role in the industry as a whole. That their arrival will further "extend the console cycle" to a level of near infinity. This is most especially if the point of constant hardware and software upgrades is reached.
EA's chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen, on the other hand, sees an uptick in the number of PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio consoles going to be sold. Jorgensen pointed out that the consoles' arrival will surely enhance the size as well as the engagement levels in each community.
The company iterated how excited they are with PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio -- and this despite all criticisms that the consoles have received lately. For them, building scaled experiences should be of utmost importance. This is simply because it helps keep players connect with one another. And this is something that the upcoming machines will do in the industry.
As of this writing, PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio are believed to arrive next year -- with Microsoft's console confirmed for a release window in Holiday 2017. Sony's console, on the other hand, has yet to receive an official release date.
