'Wentworth' Season 5 Release Date & Spoilers: Bea And Ballie Confirmed Dead By Executive Producers

"Wentworth" fans are now dismayed at the confirmation that the main character of the show, Bea Smith, will no longer be part of season five. Her death has been confirmed by the producers of the show themselves.

During the season four finale of Foxtel's "Wentworth," Bea Smith, played by actress Danielle Cormack was stabbed to death by a screw driver. She was killed by the character of Joan Ferguson, which caused an internal bleeding that led to her death.

Movie News Guide reports that despite that scene, fans were still hopeful that Bea could still be alive by season five. This speculation was brought about by the belief that since she is the main character, killing her off would be a mistake.

Much to many fans' disappointment, however, executive producer Jo Porter has indeed confirmed that Bea Smith will no longer be coming back for the fifth season of "Wentworth." According to Ecumenical News, Porter said that the show has been created and known for being a risk-taker and bold storyteller; hence, their decision to kill off Bea.

Even though Bea Smith is the main character for "Wentworth," the producers and creators believe that this is significant for the storyline. As part of the thrill of the show, they intend to keep it to an intense level and keep the viewers guessing on what the next mystery will be.

Although the shoes of Bea Smith are hard to fill, the fifth season of "Wentworth" will open more opportunities for the show to build a bolder storyline. It will also be open to potential new stories and characters of the show.

There is still so much to look forward to on the upcoming fifth season, despite the death of its main character. The producers have assured the viewers that the show will remain great amidst the shocking turn of events.

Fifth season of "Wentworth" is set to premiere early next year on Foxtel.
