‘Narcos’ Season 3 And 4 Gets The Green Light; Netflix Released Teaser Trailer

A few weeks ago, the hit Netflix series "Narcos" ended with the demise of its major character, Pablo Escobar which was wonderfully played by Wagner Moura. Fans were unsure if that was the end of the beloved series.

To the delight of the viewers, Netflix released a teaser trailer for the third season, confirming that "Narcos" will continue telling us the story of the drug trafficking cartel drama.

What is even better is that Netflix also renewed "Narcos" for a fourth season with Jose Padilha and Eric Newman still serving as the executive producers of the show.

Season 1 of "Narcos" showed the rise of known drug cartel kingpin, Pablo Escobar. While the second season was about Escobar's fall and the beginning of the rise of the Cali cartel. It also hints that DEA Agent Javier Pena (Pedro Pascual) will still play a big role in taking down the Cali cartel in the upcoming season 3. Newman quoted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "I love working with Pedro Pascal, so nothing would make me happier than to be back in business with him in some way."

Meanwhile, Pena's partner, DEA Agent Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) leaves Colombia in the series but no confirmation yet as to whether he will also play a part in taking down the Cali's. Executive Producer, Eric Newman has this to say about the character Murphy, "I am really proud of Murphy's story and the evolution, one of the things you have to consider is: Is his story over?"

Newman gave a preview on what the third season of "Narcos" would look like and mentioned that it is time to shift the attention of the viewers to the Cali cartel. Fans will have to wait until 2017 to watch "Narcos" season 3. However, seasons one and two are available for streaming on Netflix.
