For Honor is an upcoming game that is under development by Ubisoft Montreal. Three warrior classes and new battle control were also introduced.
For Honor - Introduces Three New Warrior Classes
The upcoming game introduced three initial warrior classes during its recent PAX West game demo. Those warriors were known as Kensei and Raider as well as Warden. The closed alpha play further added three new classes. These are the Beserker or Viking, Conqueror or Knight and Orochi or Samurai.
For Honor - Art of Battle game controls
Ubisoft Montreal created the Art of Battle game control specifically for this particular game. Characters are given the left, center and right attack stances. These attacks are further divided into light and heavy.
A light attack can be executed faster but the damaged inflicted against opponents is also light. Heavy attacks are slower and the chance of blocking it is greater. However, if executed correctly, the damage can be quite deadly against the opposing warrior.
Developer advised players to perfect their blockings first if they want to survive long in their death matches. Players can block attacks by mirroring the enemy's stance. For example, if the enemy's alignment is to the left, your character's alignment should be to the right. The Art of Battle controls also require the use of stamina for every attack made. Characters can regain their stamina if they remain idle.
For Honor gameplay involves several battle modes. The first mode is Duel which involves a one-on-one battle in a best of five rounds. Second mode is Brawl that involves a two-player team battle. Victor is determined by best of five rounds also. The latest is Domination involving two teams.
