Film production company Lionsgate is making it big in 2017, announcing a back-to-back release of "John Wick Chapter 2" in February and "Power Rangers" in March.
The New York Comic-Con is almost around the corner, and Lionsgate is taking two movies: "Power Rangers" and "John Wick: Chapter 2." Both films will be featured at the event during a Saturday panel, which will run on Oct. 6-9 in Manhattan.
Lionsgate will give the press footages of "Power Rangers" during the panel at 2 PM, Oct. 8, followed by a Q&A with the cast and filmmaker. After this, fans of Keanu Reeves' hit revenge action movie "John Wick: will take the stage to give a preview of scenes from the sequel, again followed by a Q&A. The event is slated to last an hour and it will be held this year at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.
As for the sequel to the popular action movie, "John Wick: Chapter 2," its first poster arrived earlier this week, showing the lead star Keanu Reeves getting fitted for a dapper new suit with a gun in hand. But in addition to the just-released teaser poster, film director Chad Stahelski added to the excitement of fans as he revealed in an interview with EW that there is twice as much action in "John Wick: Chapter 2" as there was in "John Wick."
"I would say we had twice as much action as the first movie," he said about the shoot. "We took it all a full notch up as far as the driving car stuff went. A great portion of the car chase in the opening of the film is Keanu, which is very impressive."
Stahelski released a feature directorial debut with the first "John Wick" movie alongside co-director David Leitch. The two had a record of a long and successful career as stunt coordinators and second unit directors for several blockbuster films like "The Wolverine," "Jurassic World," and "Captain America: Civil War."
More movie leaks narrated parts of the "John Wick: Chapter 2" plot, supporting earlier statements that the sequel will take on more action delving deeper into the criminal network of hotels that was briefly flashed in the first movie. The movie setting also relocates to Rome.
There are new cast members added for "John Wick: Chapter 2" including Ruby Rose and Common, while original casts John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, and Ian McShane reappear, still playing their roles from the first movie.
"John Wick: Chapter 2" will open in theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
