"The K2" premiered on cable channel tvN this weekend with highest TV viewer ratings and good reviews. The drama showed off its action-packed scenes and excellent acting with stars Ji Chang Wook and idol-turned-actress Im Yoona.
The drama had viewer ratings of 3.8 percent on the first episode and 4 percent on the second as measured by Nielsen Korea. "The K2" also scored the highest percentile of most viewed show of women between 10-50 years old, reported Jakarta Post.
Positive reviews also poured for Ji Chang Wook playing Kim Je Ha, who was reportedly doing all action scenes without a double, and Girl's Generation's Im Yoona playing Go Anna, who had to film many scenes running barefoot in the busy streets of Spain.
Je Ha and Anna had their first fateful meeting when Je Ha tried (but ultimately failed) to rescue Anna in Spain, as she is hostaged by Choi Yoo Jin, to control his father who is running for presidency.
"The K2" second episode ended with Je Ha meeting Anna again in an awkward situation. Je Ha is trying to kill Yoo Jin after endangering an old couple with whom he lived for a few days. Je Ha is holding a gun over Yoo Jin's head and Anna sees and encourages him to fire the gun.
In "The K2" episode 3 preview, the situation will turn into a car chase. Je Ha tells Yoo Jin that it seems like he's not the only one who wants her dead, but spoilers show that Je Ha will not still kill Yoo Jin in the end and will even save her from an explosion. Je Ha will eventually become deeply entangled with Anna's complex family affairs and become his bodyguard.
"The K2" airs on tvN every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. KST.
