Pokémon GO: Consistent Decline; Here's Why

Pokémon GO conquered Facebook and Twitter for having the most downloads in a week. On the other hand a few months later the number of downloads and users are not only much less than they were at the height of the app's popularity, but are continuing to decrease. Over 10 million users have stopped playing between July and mid-August. With total engagement and time consumed on the app per day also decreasing. Things aren't good for Pokémon GO's lastingness.

The most common issue that users complain, were the battery life and data allowance. The game drains the power of the battery. As an outcome, users found that continuous usage of the app will not make their phone to stay alive past lunchtime.

Data allowance was a big problem too. Without unlimited data I found out that the game consumed up my data within the first couple of weeks. Moving between hotspots makes the whole Pokémon hunting experience less enjoyable.

Patrick Goss, Editor, felt that there was an "utter failure to make the Gym experience entertaining, challenging or even in any way sensible" and that the entire thing ended up feeling like "grind without reward."

Mobile Editor, Gareth Beavis also said "Pointless" and "Impossible to level up" He include that the game was also poor at determining distances traveled, especially when on a long run which increased the feeling of grind without reward that Patrick experienced.

By far the simplest way to expand the game would be to add more generations of Pokemon.

Although the reason why Pokémon Go received a steady decline is true and legitimate. As a user it still has the hope and trust that this will not be the end of Pokémon Go's Journey.

There still updates, improvement and addition to the game that will make the players go back.
