OnePlus 4 is now at the top along with the iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 when it comes to the highly anticipated next batch of flagship phones. Looking at its rumored specs, it has the right to be so. In addition to that, the expected price comes at half of what the cheapest iPhone 7 currently costs.
OnePlus 4 Specs
OnePlus 4 is rumored to be the next flagship killer with its killer specs, following the footsteps of the OnePlus 3 that recently took the mobile world by storm. Rumor has it that the next flagship would come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 paired with a massive 8GB RAM, two notches higher than this year's 6GB.
On the camera department, a 23MP lens may be situated at the back, while the front might have an 8MP selfie snapper. The Pixel currently dominates this field with a rating of 89 from DxOMark, but it is not too late yet for a competitor.
With this kind of specs, it is naturally expected that current flagships will not stand a chance against OnePlus 4. For comparison, the Galaxy S7 and the Pixel only have 4GB RAM while iPhone 7's memory is at 2GB RAM.
OnePlus 4 Nougat vs iOS
OnePlus 4 is also expected to come right out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat installed. The latest firmware has not been released to all compatible devices yet, but reports suggest that it will give the iOS 10 a run for its money. If the Chinese smartphone maker can fully utilize the OS, it may finally beat Apple.
Perhaps the best thing about the OnePlus 4 is that it is only projected to cost about $300 or higher, but not more than $400. The iPhone 7 is sold for $649, Pixel for $650 and Galaxy S7 for $670 and these are the cheapest options. If the rumors turn out to be true, then consumers might finally get a high-specced phone for half the price of its competitors.
