LG V20 vs iPhone 7 Plus vs Note 7: Which Phablet Stands Out?

The LG V20 is coming to the shores of the United States soon. With its arrival, it will directly compete with the Galaxy Note 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus that currently dominate the phablet market. How does it fare against the two giants?

LG V20 vs Galaxy Note 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus: Build

When it comes to the build, there is a huge difference among the three devices here. For one, the LG V20 sports an almost-rectangular body with aluminum casing while the iPhone 7 Plus features a similar look with its predecessors, the iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus. The Note 7 definitely stands out here with its curved screen, glass rear panel and metal frame.

The Note 7's body is also IP68 certified, which means that it is both waterproof and dustproof to a certain extent. The iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, is water and dust resistant only. However, the LG V20 does not have any water resistance, just drop and shock resistant.

LG V20 vs Galaxy Note 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus: Paper Specs

The LG phablet sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage that is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. The same specs can be seen over at the new Note while an A10 Fusion chip and 2GB of RAM powers the bigger iPhone sibling.

It is hard to compare these phones at this point, as many have noted that the iPhone offers better performance even if it does not look like it on paper.

LG V20 vs Galaxy Note 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus: Camera

Both the rear cameras of the Note 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are highly rated. The former is praised for its autofocus technology while the latter boasts dual cameras. To date, both smartphones have the best cameras in the mobile industry.

Samsung's bet sports a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP snapper at the front. Apple's own phablet has 12MP dual cameras, which enables it to take 3D images. LG is not one to be left behind, so they put their revolutionary dual cameras in the V20, too.

In a review from Forbes, the LG V20 competes head to head with the Note 7.

LG V20 vs Galaxy Note 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus: Features

What will differentiate the phablets better are the features on-board. The Note 7 introduced the iris scanner, a first in the industry. The iPhone 7 Plus has 3D Touch, which offers wider options for the average consumer.

The LG V20 has not been fully reviewed yet, seeing as how it has not yet set foot in the U.S.

LG V20 vs Galaxy Note 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus: Price

The iPhone 7 Plus starts at $770 for its 32GB model, while a 64GB Note 7 can be bought for $849. U.S. pricing for the LG V20 is unavailable at this point, but it is expected to fall between $600 to $700, effectively making it as the cheapest option among the three.

The LG V20, Galaxy Note 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus just prove that many great devices are out there. Consumers will have to closely scrutinize to find which one is the best phablet for them.
