2016 MacBook Pro Rumor Roundup: October Release Date, Improved Specs And All-New Features

The 2016 MacBook Pro is expected to finally make a public appearance at Apple's October 27 event. If the device does make its debut on the highly-anticipated event, there is definitely a lot to look forward to. The notebook from Apple has been untouched in 16 months, as that was when the latest updates were made - and even then were just slight tweaks.

As noted by The Week, a new OLED touch bar can be expected from the 2016 MacBook Pro, which will allow the device to be the thinnest and lightest one in the series. Furthermore, the unit is estimated to come with a much battery life, particularly because of the iPhone 7; iPhone 7 plus received an upgraded battery as well. In addition, the new and more efficient Skylake processor will help in this area as well.

A Touch ID feature is also likely to extend to Apple's range of notebooks, starting with the new MacBook Pro. This will provide users with a more accurate and more secure means to unlock their devices. The stylus is also scheduled to have an upgrade, as it will reportedly be compatible for a new Apple stylus.

As International Business Times notes, however, the most appealing feature might be macOS Sierra 10.12.1, which is currently under beta testing. The updated operating system is expected to be finalized within the month as well. As such, it is logical for the Cupertino-based company to release their newest software and hardware at the same time.

The upcoming event is exceptionally exciting especially with Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most accurate Apple analysts, calling the upcoming releases "the most significant upgrade ever taken by Apple." Apple's October 27 event is also coming just one day after Microsoft's Windows 10 event. As such, it will be interesting to see how the two tech giants battle it out.
