Pokemon GO will soon see the return of third-party tracker app - FastPokeMap (FPM). Surprisingly, FPM'S developer sent a letter to Niantic accusing it of "self-sabotaging" the game.
FastPokeMap Third Party Tracker Returning
FastPokeMap coming back to Pokemon GO came as pleasant surprise to many players who have grown dependent of the app to capture Pokemon in the wild. The FPM developer announced via Twitter that the app will be back either on Friday or Saturday. The new and improved Pokemon tracker is still being tested.
FPM Successful in Reverse Engineering Pokemon GO?
Earlier, the FPM developer called for assistance from a Pokemon GO hacking community to help him reverse engineer Pokemon GO's latest safety net features. It seems he was successful in getting the right people to do the job. The fact that FPM managed to make a workaround against Niantic's latest security update is quite an achievement.
FPM Dev Accuses Niantic Of "Self-Sabotage"
Everybody in the Pokemon GO and gaming community in general were surprised by the next step he took. The FPM developer sent an open letter to Niantic criticizing its present policy of keeping third party apps from Pokemon GO, according to Pokemongohub.
He accused Niantic of sacrificing the quality of the game in a bid to get rid of third party apps making use of the game's resources such as its API. He boasted that any security measures adopted by the Pokemon GO developer will be defeated as long as the game remains popular. He added that Niantic is merely discouraging people to play the game due to their security safeguards. He asked the developer if it's making game purely out of profit or the Pokemon Go playing community. Niantic has yet to issue a public statement as a reply to the FPM developer.
