Rolling Stone Set To Go To Trial After Brutal Rape Story On A Young Woman In School Claimed To Be Untrue

Rolling Stone is now set to face trial, two years after the controversial rape story they have published has been debunked. The publishing company is now facing a $7.85-million lawsuit from the administrator most wrongly accused in the entire story.

School Administrator Nicole Eramo Continues Lawsuit Against Rolling Stone For False Accusations During A Rape Incident

As it can be recalled, back in November 2014, Rolling Stone published a story about a brutal rape that happened to a girl, alias Jackie, who claims she was raped inside the school campus during a fraternity initiation. The University Administrator back then, Nicole Eramo was accused of disregarding the rape story being told by a student to save the name of the school. In the report published by Rolling Stone, she was named the villain in all of it.

Upon investigation, there were no evidences to back up Jackie's story and she could not even name the men whom she claims to have raped her. The Rolling Stone author of the article, Sabrina Erdely, did not even include the accused in her story. She merely sided with the girl, then assumed the story was true without further investigation prior to publishing the story. Now, the publishing company is being accused of publishing such horrific stories even without proper investigation of the whole thing.

Rolling Stone Continually Claims Innocence In Publishing Brutal Rape Story

It can be recalled that after the police found no evidence to support Jackie's statements and considering many loopholes in the story, Rolling Stone officially retracted their story in 2015. However, this has not saved the company from the lawsuits being thrown against them.

Nevertheless, the editors of the firm claim that they did not withhold any information that might retract their story about school administrators purposely ignoring rape victims for monetary reasons. Thus, it led them to publish Jackie's story without any supporting evidence.

Now, Eramo's lawyers are keeping their focus of the lawsuit on Rolling Stone's errors regarding Jackie's statements and claims. However, they insist that she was not even the only one raped by the said fraternity, but was the only one strong enough to come out. They continue to side by their statement on school administrators ignoring rape allegations towards a group that may affect the school's earnings and the like.
