A Billboard report mentioned that "The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band" verified early this year that their new album is in the works and features new material and several blues covers, including versions of Howlin' Wolf and Little Walter.
"They really sound authentic. We went in to cut some new songs, which we did. But we got on a blues streak. We cut 11 blues in two days… When we heard them back after not hearing them for a couple of months, we were, ‘Who’s that?’ ‘It’s you.’ It sounded so authentic," said guitarist Ronnie Wood.
Keith Richards confirmed Eric Clapton’s special appearance on a number of tracks saying that the popular blues guitarist “dropped by for a couple of numbers.”
The Stones last album “A Bigger Bang,” was released way back in 2005 but the band did not stop from pursuing their craft. They have been touring the world since then. In March, they held a free concert in Cuba entertaining a huge crowd of half a million.
Indeed, the legacy of the icons continue to live. It cannot be denied that their upcoming blues album will break records for the nth time.
According to Reuters, The Rolling Stones will perform in "OldChella" festival this weekend. The three-day outdoor event in southern California showcases includes giant names of rock and pop music including Paul McCartney, The Who, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.
