Lindsay Lohan has taken the social media by storm anew following her posting of a tweet about her latest wish that every "Mean Girls" fanatic would also wish for. Rumors have surfaced again that "Mean Girls" sequel might be happening soon.
Lohan, who played Cady Heron, is not the only "Mean Girls" alum who wished for the hit teen flick's sequel as co-star Daniel Franzese is the latest to join Lohan in a petition to realize "Mean Girls 2." Another post on Lohan's Instagram account first caught the attention of millions of fans around the world.
The troubled actress posted a throwback photo of herself with co-stars Lacey Chabert and Rachel McAdams who played Gretchen Wieners and Regina George, respectively. The caption read: "#tbt @rayannemcadams @thereallacey #meangirls @markwatersfilm Miss you all... Sequel?" As of press time, the post gathered a total of 122,563 hearts and 3,051 comments already proving that many are really wanting for the follow-up film.
Franzese, who played Damian in the film, responded to the said post on Twitter that he is in for the "Mean Girls" sequel. He tweeted: "I feel like the number one reason to have social media is to try to drum up the powers that be to make us a 'Mean Girls' sequel."
Recently, it was discovered that Lohan had FaceTime with another co-star, Jonathan Bennett after she posted a screenshot of the conversation on Instagram. Despite Bennett, who played the role of Aaron Samuels, dissing the idea of a "Mean Girls" sequel last year, the former actor and now spinning instructor seemed to have a change of mind.
In 2014, Lohan had also mentioned to another co-star, Tina Fey, in a casual conversation her desire to do "Mean Girls 2." In fact, she said: "Like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating. That would be really funny. I'll harass Tina to write it." Film director Mark Waters, however, did not respond to this new petition of the actors.
