Nintendo Switch Doom To Fail Just Like Wii U?

The Nintendo Switch is the newest gaming platform intended to replace the Wii U. There are fears however, that the Switch may suffer the same fate as the Wii U.

Wii U - Predecessor Of Nintendo Switch

When the Wii U was first introduced, a promo video showed several representatives from various game developers praising the Wii U. However, most of the game developers shown in the video clip never released a game for the Wii U platform.

The video also showed scenes from various games that gave the impression that it will be included in the Wii u platform. Some games were indeed included but many of them such as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online did not. The Wii U did not stand a chance against the Sony PlayStation and the Microsoft Xbox. The two platforms are superior in the specs and sheer volume of games when compared to Nintendo's Wii U.

Nintendo Switch - Different This Time Around?

The promo trailer for the Nintendo Switch seems impressive enough. Unlike the earlier Wii U video trailer, Nintendo showed how the upcoming Switch is supposed to be used by people both as game console and handheld device. There was also some game teasers included in the video clip that was not unexpected. Gamers were surprised though to see the Skyrim game being played in both the mobile and console mode of the Nintendo Switch.

Some have expressed doubts if Bethesda is seriously considering bringing its game to Nintendo Switch. Critics pointed out the earlier Wii U incident where outside developers promised their game for the Nintendo platform only to back out later.

Bethesda is neither confirming nor denying its involvement with Nintendo Switch. Industry observers believed that Nintendo is unlikely to post a deceiving advertisement. The addition of third party games in addition to Nintendo's own games to the Switch will certainly be a game changer. This time around the Nintendo Switch has a chance to challenge its game platform rivals.
