Pokemon Sun & Moon will be integrated to Pokemon GO soon. Does this mean that Nintendo will take control of Pokemon GO from Niantic?
Pokemon Sun & Moon Integration With Pokemon GO
The upcoming integration of Pokemon Sun & Moon with Pokemon GO is not a mere rumor. In fact this statement came from Junichi Masuda. He is one the pioneers who created most of the Pokemon that could be seen in the game franchise. He also worked on some of the controls in the Pokemon GO game. Masuda worked on the game's physics such as the Pokeball throwing system, according to Game Informer.
He admitted that he was surprised by how Pokemon GO achieved widespread popularity in such a short amount of time. Of course, they wanted Pokemon GO to succeed but what it achieved is nothing short of spectacular.
Niantic Mishandling Pokemon GO?
However, there have been some criticisms directed at Pokemon GO particularly its developer, Niantic. Many players complained about the lack of a working in-game tracker. Third party trackers were willing to fill that role but most of them were banned from the game.
Pokemon GO has now spread to almost every major part of the world and its player base is currently in the millions. However, the game has been reported to have lost an estimated 15 million players since it was launched last July.
Nintendo Taking Over Pokemon GO?
Niantic may have developed Pokemon GO but Nintendo owns the license for the Pokemon currently being used in the game. The Japanese company also has a substantial investment in Pokemon GO and its making a killing with the sale of the Pokemon Go Plus accessory. It is in Nintendo's interest to keep the popularity of Pokemon GO. One such way to keep Pokemon GO players is by integrating them with the new Pokemon Sun & Moon.
