Titanfall 2 Has PS4 Pro Patch Support On Disc, But It's Not Native 4K

After many speculations, Respawn Entertainment has finally confirmed that an on-disc support patch will be available for Titanfall 2 on PlayStation 4 Pro. But unlike earlier rumors, the native 4K gaming experience is not likely to happen on the PS4 Pro. Consuming too much processing power is to blame for that.

Not In Native 4K But More Stable Frames At High Resolutions

In an interview, Drew McCoy, executive producer of Titanfall 2, already confirmed that the title is not likely to be played at native 4K. The reason? A gameplay with a native 4K experience would require an "unbelievable" amount of processing and computational power. Playing any AAA level game would be a feat that would be too surprising to do at the moment and the GPU grant that native 4K gaming would demand would be too much to accomplish. But thanks to the hardware of the PlayStation 4, gamers may not have the native 4K gaming they desire, but they will get better and more stable frames even when playing Titanfall 2 at high resolutions.

Titanfall 2 Confirmed With A PS4 Pro Support

Titanfall 2 producer confirmed on Twitter that there will be an available support for the title on PS4 Pro. McCoy also made it clear that the support will be available on the disc. This is the first time that Respawn Entertainment has confirmed an upgrade patch for Titanfall 2. Before them, other developers have already released 4k upgrade patches for their games in preparation for the launch of PlayStation 4 Pro this November.

Aside from confirming a PS4 Pro support for Titanfall 2, which is just a few days away before its launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 28, Respawn also plan to do more titles in the future. CEO and Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella said that it is possible for them to release more titles after Titanfall 2 with all the "great ideas" they have floating around. Titanfall 2 is also set to launch on PlayStation 4 Pro on Nov. 10.
