Bethesda took serious marketing and promotional efforts for its upcoming game, Dishonored 2, by releasing a live-action trailer. Entitled "Take Back What's Yours", the trailer is jampacked with actions and adventures that highlights its playable characters fighting enemies with their magical powers and hostile weapons.
The two-minute clip starts with father and daughter, Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano, being cornered by the game's main antagonist, Delilah Copperspoon, with her villainy mechanical robots. The video then proceeds with Emily and Corvo taking down enemies using their super powers and weapons as they are being chased. The video is so slick, having it spiced up with special effects as Emily and Corvo showcased their abilities. It ended with Emily and Delilah confronting face to face, about to commence a battle.
This trailer is similar to the company's previous live-action trailers of 'Doom' and 'Fallout 4' that doesn't directly show the gameplay but instead, it captures the feeling of what it will be like to play the game. During the previous version of the game, the biological relationship between Corvo and Emily wasn't made clear; only Emily's behavior suggests that she sees Corvo as a father figure. In Dishonored 2, it was finally confirmed that Corvo is indeed Emily's father.
Bethesda has long teased everyone by releasing gameplay trailers including the Clockwork Mansion entitled "Kill the Grand Inventor" where Emily carries out the mission by killing the clockwork soldiers with her spells and weapons as she tries to rescue a friend. Corvo and Emily's supernatural abilities present in Dishonored 2 were revealed in also one of the trailers released by Bethesda.
Dishonored 2 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 11. Developers are now also hinting to produce a VR-compatible version of the game. If you are too excited for this game, you can preorder Dishonored 2 which will grant you access a day earlier than the official launching.
