Fallout 4 Update: SteamDB Listing Not New DLC, Could Mean VR Or GOTY Edition

Bethesda has already iterated in the past that Nuka World will be the last DLC for Fallout 4. While there are those who're totally okay with it, some just can't accept the reality. Simply put, they want a new content for the titular title in the franchise. Unfortunately, with the latest development, it seems the rumors about another expansion aren't true after all.

As previously reported here at iTech Post, Fallout 4 fans believed that the studio might come up with a new DLC for the game. This happened after they noticed that the SteamDB page of the title was updated. This is most especially that it covered the files in the DLC section. In one or another, they deem it to be a new content.

However, as per Bethesda's very own Pete Hines -- VP for Marketing and Public Reactions -- the aforementioned Fallout 4 update was nothing special. That it doesn't refer to a new expansion of sort, confirming that Nuka World will indeed be the last DLC in the series. "There's no more DLC," Hines said over Twitter.

Nonetheless, the Fallout 4 listing could mean something in one way or another. It could be synonymous to a Game of the Year edition that the studio have been working all along. And if this is the case, it's likely to include the base game as well as all the DLCs it offered in the franchise.

There are also rumors about Fallout 4 sporting a VR capability in the future. While there's no specifics, Bethesda might likely to jump in come mid-2017. But of course, like the aforementioned listing, this one here is also a speculation from the community.

It's really interesting to see what the Fallout 4 SteamDB update was all about. It could mean the Game of the Year Edition. Or perhaps, it'll be a patch designed to ready the game for VR support. Either way, it's sad to know that no DLC can be expected in the future. It definitely burst the bubble of expecting fans.
