The return of Nina Dobrev on "The Vampire Diaries" season eight has been one of the most talked about issues over the internet these days, since the series is already on their last season. Just recently, showrunner Julie Plec teases the return of the actress to the show.

It can be recalled that Dobrev exited "The Vampire Diaries" during the season six finale, but did not do so by her character dying. Her exit was left wan open door, giving the actress room to return when she decides to do so. Now that it has been confirmed that the show is coming to an end, fans of the series have been wanting the actress to return and give closure to her character, as well as to the fans.

There have been a lot of reported hindrances to the actress's return, such as n-going rumors that her ex-boyfriend's (Ian Somerhalder) wife (Nikki Reed) is having problems with Dobrev working with her husband. Thus, these reports then sparked rumors that their marriage has been on the rocks, Dobrev being one of the reasons. Since she portrays the role of Ian's character's greatest love, she and the actor will definitely be having scenes together if and when she returns.

In a recent interview with the showrunner, she revealed that she wants to have the actress back for "The Vampire Diaries" season eight, and Dobrev wants to return as well. Now, it is all on the matters of making their schedules work since the actress already has other commitments.

When asked about the series finale of "The Vampire Diaries," Plec said that it could go a lot of ways for the characters in the show. According to her, the writers are given the right to end it in any way they would want it to; including tearing a couple apart, bringing a couple together and an epic confession of love. Spoiler alert, they are executing all scenarios for the finale.
