The Nintendo Switch Will Have A Revolutionary Multitouch Screen

Just a week ago, Nintendo has finally revealed their much-awaited console, the Nintendo Switch. But while the console's official trailer gave some pretty clear pictures about the device's capabilities, it also generated a number of questions from the public. The most significant one is 'does the Switch have a touchscreen?' The answer, according to recently new reports from tech analysts, is YES, the Switch does have a touchscreen.

Nintendo now features its Switch with a multi-touch display

Credible reports and sources have been claiming that the Switch will be featuring a 6.2-inch 720P display, and that, unlike former Nintendo hardware like the Wii U and 3DS which had some resistive touch screens, it will also feature a revolutionary capacitive multitouch display. Previous reports have accurately stated that the Switch (formerly known as NX) is going to be a portable-slash-console hybrid that features controls that can be detached from a tablet.

What about if the tablet is docked?

The questions that remain now is how will you be able to play touchscreen games while the tablet is being docked since the screen will become inaccessible when it's hooked to a television. Reports and theories by analysts have suggests that one of the motion-sensitive JoyCon controllers can be used to reflect touchscreen controls on your television. With the incorporation of a touchscreen, it would only mean that many games programmed for previous Nintendo hardware could now be ported to the device, as well as other upcoming mobile titles like the upcoming Super Mario Run.

Nintendo Switch Price

As of now, the estimated Nintendo Switch launch price will be at $349. If that price sounds a bit too expensive for a console that won't be as powerful as Xbox One or PS4, you're not wrong. But those titles have been out in the open for years, and Nintendo is currently making strides at making the Switch the newest revolutionary console. However, it's still pretty early. Nintendo can adjust the price range if they think that the price range is way too high.
