In a simple Twitter conversation, one of the top execs of Bethesda, Pete Hines, has unintentionally confirmed that the studio is currently working on two "other" [not Elder Scroll VI] games which raised a lot of speculations about an upcoming iteration of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The theory is highly probable considering how critically acclaimed and well-received the current installment is. With the stellar success of Skyrim Special Edition, it wouldn't come as a surprise if Bethesda will in fact create a new expansion for Skyrim.
Elder Scrolls VI
Apparently, the news came both as exhilarating and disappointing - to some. The fact that Bethesda confirmed earlier this year that they are going to work on the new Elder Scrolls VI has enticed a lot of fans for the franchise. Most of them, including me, has been a fan of the series and has since been longing for the new installment of the franchise.
Sadly, it appears that Bethesda studio has pushed its schedule for the Elder Scrolls VI as it has just been officially confirmed that no one in the studio is actually working on the project. Instead, they're going to release two other games (hopefully in the following year) before they continue with the Elder Scrolls series. Due to the fact that there have been no other hints or foreshadowed new titles that Bethesda is working on, a lot of fans are speculating that Bethesda could very well be working on a new expansion of the critically acclaimed Skyrim.
The full Twitter conversation can be found here. Although it's still yet to be confirmed whether or not we will be getting Skyrim 2, it's still highly probable that the Studio will make a new expansion of the franchise; especially now that they've seen how popular Skyrim still is despite how long the game has already been out in the market.
Taking into account the well-received Skyrim Special Edition, we can somehow predict what Bethesda's approach in their future projects will be. Personally, I'd prefer to have Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 2 more than Elder Scrolls VI and I'm pretty sure most of you do too.
