Director Tim Miller Leaves Deadpool 2, Now Joins Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

Creative differences, the reason why people leave, not just in bands but in movie productions, as well as game studios (cough, Konami, Kojima, cough). Tim Miller left Deadpool 2 for the same reason and reportedly, it stemmed from the casting of Cable's actor. On top of that, budget concerns were raised.

Today, Time Miller has found himself a new job at Sony, where he will be helping out to develop a videogame-based film, Sonic the Hedgehog. First one to break the news was THR saying that the project is currently being molded to what now seems to be a hybrid of computer generated animation and live-action film. The initial age bracket for the movie is for everyone as the source reports that it is a family movie.

What will Miller do with this new project?

Miller will be executive producer for the Sonic the Hedgehog film and will be directed by his long time friend and collaborator, Jeff Fowler. This will be Fowler's first movie to direct on. The Fast and The Furious franchise's Neal H. Mortiz will also produce the film and he is thrilled to help in making the vision for Sonic a reality, "Tim and Jeff are incredibly talented filmmakers and I'm thrilled to partner with them to help bring their exciting vision for Sonic to life."

Miller is also confident with his long-time friend even though it's Fowler's first time. Miller justifies that Fowler has strong story instincts and believes that the Sonic film is his opportunity to show off his experience in animation and at the same time bring new dimension for the popular videogame character.

There's no word yet about the plot or other details but it is certain that the Sonic the Hedgehog film will mix real world scenes with computer generated graphics. It is safe to bet that sonic will be a CGI in this movie as there is no other angle to look at in terms of how the videogame icon will be portrayed. In the meantime, here's an idea on how the movie might look like when mixing CGI and real-life footage:
