Even though Pokemon Gen 2 release date is still unclear, however, it seems like the said major update might bring back the hype of the fans considering that it will increase the dynamics of the game by adding these new set of Pokemon. In addition, it would be expected that Gen 2 will also bring two new Pokemon in Eevolution line namely Espeon and Umbreon. Previously, a trick has become known to the players which enables them to manipulate the evolution of Eevee depending on their desired evolution by changing its name.
However, several reports from Pokemon Go trainers said that it is a one-time trick and will have to depend mainly on luck. With the new addition, players are wondering how are they able to acquire their preferred evolution of Eevee.
Since Pokemon Go did not apply the evolution system through evolution stones, Eevolution has become so tricky in manipulating the process. Based on the report from Otakukart, there is a 20 percent chance of getting the desired evolution for Eevee once Generation Two will arrive. This means it will become harder for the players to acquire their preferred evolution. Some suggest that getting Espeon would want players to evolve Eevee during the day and Umbreon during the night. If that is the case, there is still a 25 percent chance of getting Espeon while the same goes for Umbreon.
Several players assumed that the nickname trick would reset when generation two thrashes out. As a result, players will be able to get their desired evolution accurately. However, if it will not be reset, it would be harder for players to acquire the additional Pokemon in Eevolution lines in the future.
Overall, it's expected that Niantic would consider adding evolution stones in Generation 2 in order to lessen the complication of Eevolution. Meanwhile, we will just have to wait for Niantic to spill the word.
