Since the mini-event of Pokemon Go kicked out, most players experienced massive increase in Pokemon Spawn and items dropped in PokeStops. This huge increase in spawn rate greatly helped players living in rural areas in grinding and catching Pokemon, which a privilege they were previously deprived. And now that the event has officially ended, it is expected that things would go back to normal. However, some players noticed that the spawn increase remains.
According to the report from Otakukart, a trainer stated that there are 2 spawn points located on his house and while walking, he encountered 4 Pokemon in a row. Additionally, he stated that this event did not exist before the Bonus week.
Now, eventhough the Bonus week has ended, the spawn points are still there. The spawn points in a particular area are now increased, which is a good thing. However, people are curious if Niantic just forgot to remove the Bonus spawn or they intentionally kept it running in order to help these trainers in catch more Pokemon.
If that is the case, it is a great move from Niantic knowing that they had also made bad decisions before that resulted to their player-base suffering the consequences. In addition, it also drove players to do a huge backlash against the game. As a result, the number of active Pokemon Go players has gone down drastically.
However, it seems like Niantic has recently made several good moves which gradually regained Pokemon Go's hype back. If that continues, it will just be a matter of time for Pokemon Go to rise back to popularity similar to its first day of release. In addition, Pokemon Go Gen 2 update is widely rumored as the next big update. Meanwhile, players are patiently waiting for Niantic's next move regarding future Pokemon Go updates.
