"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is about to have a big premiere. And Hogwarts' fans are already looking for any big connections to the beloved "Harry Potter" series. One rumored story arc that the new film will tackle is how Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald.
Fans may know Albus Dumbledore as the wise old wizard who sort of has that grandfatherly vibe. Much so to the main protagonist, Harry Potter, who had to rely on Dumbledore on numerous occasions during the course of the franchise.
But fans might be surprised to find out that Albus Dumbledore was not always this way ages ago. According to a source, the Wizard was quite the opposite during his youth; downright arrogant and troubled.
And the movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will give Potterheads the chance to see this different side of the wise wizard. The movie would be the platform to show the fans something that they have wanted to see for a while now, and that it to see Dumbledore's romantic feelings towards the villain.
In an interview, J.K Rowling has already confirmed this, though she also said that those feelings by the then young Dumbledore were not reciprocated. This is what she had to say:
"I think he was a user and a narcissist and I think someone like that would use it, would use the infatuation. I don't think that he would reciprocate in that way, although he would be as dazzled by Dumbledore as Dumbledore was by him because he would see in Dumbledore, 'My God, I never knew there was someone as brilliant as me, as talented as me, as powerful as me. Together, we are unstoppable!' So I think he would take anything from Dumbledore to have him on his side."
The Harry Potter world is still continuing to grow after the main series ended. Expect the makers to explore more themes and ideas as the franchise continues to expand.
