Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been involved in one issue after another. The latest news about the former couple is that they are back together and are even married secretly. Many fans were looking forward to the American Music Awards (AMAs) 2016 which was purportedly the couple's first outing together.
Bieber's absence was noted at the AMAs although Gomez made her first public appearance after getting out of rehab. Is this purely coincidental or did another altercation happen between the two?
Jelena Did Not Tie The Knot
The latest round of rumors indicates that Bieber reached out to Gomez while the latter was in rehab for depression and anxiety. The relationship between the two has always been turbulent and having Bieber for a spouse would be the last thing Gomez wants given her condition. Gomez reportedly had gone through a lot of heartaches since Bieber kept on cheating on her.
It is unlikely that the two have hooked up while Gomez is in rehab. The pop singer has only been spotted during family lunches and around the rehab center. In fact, the AMAs is Gomez's first big event after she decided to cancel her world tour back in August. Gomez has been staying in a rehab facility in Tennessee to deal with lupus, panic attacks, and depression.
Given the distance between the two, marriage would be the last thing that they want to do. Gomez needs to focus on her physical and mental health. Meanwhile, Bieber needs to be on tour. Gomez and Bieber's absence would have been noted if they had slipped out and had a secret wedding in the Caribbean as previous reports claimed.
Selena Gomez Ditched Justin Bieber?
No one can confirm or deny whether Bieber decided to propose to Gomez in an effort to win her back. While there were reports that Bieber proposed twice and Gomez dumped him each time, there is no confirmation that any of these happened. If Gomez did reject Bieber, it is only acceptable given her current condition. Her family also reportedly blames Bieber which makes rekindling their relationship harder.
Any rumor suggesting that the two had a spat is completely false. Bieber is on tour which is why he did not make it to the AMAs. This information surfaced weeks before the awards night.
Meanwhile, both pop artists took home awards during the AMAs 2016. Gomez brought home the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist award and she delivered an emotional speech to thank her fans for being loyal. Bieber won four awards at the AMAs, namely, Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album for "Purpose," Video of the Year for "Sorry," and Favorite Country Song for "Love Yourself." Since the pop idol is on tour for his album "Purpose," his performance of the song "Let Me Love You" in Zurich, Switzerland was played.
