Pokemon Sun And Moon Guide: What Is The Nuzlocke Challenge? See If You're Up For It

Pokemon Sun and Moon has Nuzlocke Challenge. The players might say that at the beginning, they find the game easy and quite relaxed but this will change as they go deeper in the game. They will encounter harder and bigger challenges as the player progresses.

What Is Nuzlocke Challenge In Pokemon Sun And Moon?

In a report in Twinfinite, Nuzlocke Challenge is a set of rules that players need to follow while playing Pokemon Sun and Moon. This was started by a webartist years ago and eventually it grew and became harder as years pass by.

The Nuzlocke Challenge in Pokemon Sun and Moon is divided into two groups: basic and optional. The first group follows mandatory rules in the challenge and the latter allows the players to choose what difficulty they want to experience.

Basic Rules In Nuzlocke Challenge

The basic rules of Nuzlocke Challenge in Pokemon Sun and Moon consist of four prohibitions. The first one is that all the Pokemon that will faint must be placed permanently in the storage PC and will not be used anymore. Not even legendary creatures are exempted in this rule.

Second, in each map, the players are only allowed to capture the first Pokemon they will see. This means that once a monster has fainted or has flown away, there are no second chances. If a double battle will happen, the players must choose what monster will they capture.

Third, players can only use the Pokemon they capture by themselves. This means that Mystery gifts, wonder trades and alike will not be useful to the players. Lastly, the players cannot reset the game regardless of their mistakes.

Optional Rules In Nuzlocke Challenge

The optional rules in Nuzlocke Challenge in Pokemon Sun and Moon have seven limitations. The first is that the starter Pokemon of the player will be based on the last digit of the Trainer ID number. For players ending in one to three, they will get a Rowlet. For players with four to six, they will get Litten and for seven to nine, they will acquire Popplio.

Next, players are allowed to catch any Shiny Pokemon but they will not be able to use them. Another rule is that players can limit their co-players on how many times they can use the Center or sometimes they can ban them. Pokeballs are limited throughout the game.

Players can limit the level on Pokemon Sun and Moon. This means that players are not supposed to max out their Totem and Captain. Refresh Mechanic is also restricted. Finally, players cannot escape any unfinished battle.

Pokemon Sun and Moon is not as easy as it seems. The rules in Nuzlocke Challenge will either exhaust or excite the gamers. Hopefully, this overview will be able to help the players in surviving the challenge in the game.
