When smartwatches became a thing years ago, the most striking feature was their size. Not everyone was a fan of the huge display. It was too loud and looked awkward especially on skinny arms. In recent years, smartwatches has become smaller and easier on the eyes.
It's a pity that Samsung went back to the huge display route. In fact, the Gear S3 is bigger than the Gear S2.
The design of the watch itself is fine. It comes in two variants - Classic and Frontier. The rotating bezel is still a great feature and is favored by many who have used the Gear S2. A few twists and turns will take the user to different watch faces, tasks, notifications, and other features. The act of rotating the bezel provides a feeling of smartness which is, of course, a positive.
Music lovers can download their jam on to the Gear S3. A quick look at the company's website shows Spotify and iHeart Radio. As noted by ZDNet, however, both music streaming services are not yet available in the Gear app store.
The availability of Samsung Pay is another one of the better features of the Gear S3. Its MST technology allows the user to pay at any credit card terminal using the watch.
The Gear S3 claims it can last for three to four days on a full charge. But as a CNet reporter noted, the watch only had a 46 percent batter life after one day of use.
