Ubisoft made Watch Dogs 2 one of the best games there is where you can explore every inch and nook of the gameplay. There are plenty of activities found on the game map to help you gain follower. The unique smaller sections like the Main Operations and Research Trees also make Watch Dogs 2 more fun to play compared to the first installment.
But whether you are new to playing the game or you have had some time playing it, knowing the things you can do in this game would be very helpful for your gameplay. We have plenty of game tips and tricks that you should take note, too. So if you are ready, let's start off with the things you can do and should know in Watch Dogs 2 to help you perform your best gameplay.
Buy A Quadcopter First Before Anything
When you start playing Watch Dogs 2, you will be given a free RC car. But if you have to buy more things to help your mission, buy a quadcopter drone. It's one of the items that is critical to help you in your mission. The drone costs around $50,000 to $60,000 which is nothing at all after you've hacked a few phones and hunted down a few bags of money. You only need cash for essential tools and clothes anyway and the quadcopter drone is the only tool that is really fundamental in your gameplay. Why, you can use it to scout enemy positions, set booby traps stealthily, spot ways to reach rooftops and even earn skill points and hack mission objectives all by itself.
Upgrade The Car Thievery First
Technically, you have to buy the ability to drive cars remotely first thing in Watch Dogs 2 before you can upgrade the car thievery ability. A little technicality that you have to keep in mind before you do the upgrade. With this ability, you can auto-unlock any car without setting off an alarm. Just remember that you can only unlock unoccupied cars or you will face dire consequences. As you move into the game, you will have to travel fast and not having a car can be a problem. You can order. But auto-unlocking a nearby car and not setting off the alarm is faster and far more convenient to do. If you don't have this skill though, then don't be surprised to see cops right at your tail when you drive.
Billiards Ball Can Help You Complete A Mission
Just like Aiden Pearce, Marcus has his own signature melee weapon in Watch Dogs 2. This is the billiard ball you see attached to a neon-green rope that can go brutal. With this billiard ball, you can do several wild melee takedowns and eliminate your enemies. If you have this weapon and you have a Quadcopter, going stealth throughout the entire mission and using melee takedowns would be your way to victory.
Go Shopping For Clothes
There are plenty of wardrobes found in Watch Dogs 2 and most of it fits Marcus. You can shop from the nine collections of clothes available or you can unlock and discover some as you go throughout the city. The thing is, you don't really want to become just like any other Marcus who play the game so finding the perfect outfit that you yourself customized is important.
Make Your Own Playlist
Compared to Grand Theft Auto V, Watch Dogs 2 lack some good musical selection. But you can easily remedy that using your phone. Just download the SongSneak app and Media Player on your phone and you can get to building your own playlist. It's not as savvy with GTA V but it's a good way for you to enjoy the game better with sounds you are familiar with.
Do Some Sightseeing
The major goal of playing Watch Dogs 2 is for you to hack your way into and through the mission and collection hidden items from around the city. But Ubisoft also made sure that you get a San Francisco that is as beautiful as the one in real life. So instead of just hacking and collecting items throughout the mission, spare some time to visit places like the Silicon Valley or the Golden Gate Bridge.
Use Distracting Tactics
That is, you can easily start an NPC war. How? The Social Engineering Research Tree has a Gang Attack ability that you can unlock where you can cause a group of gang members to take out any target you assigned - with no questions asked. Why bother? With this ability, you can create gang ways and divert everyone's attention, including the cops, so they will not know your movements through and within the city.
Join A Race
Just like any other open world titles, a series of racing activities are available in Watch Dogs 2. These races can range from Drone to Sailboat races. Aside from being really fun - with a lot of crazy thrown into the mix - the races can help increase your followers. Also, you can get your hands into plenty of cash if you win the race as the champion.
You Can Mess Around With NPCs
Believe it or not, Watch Dogs 2 is one of those games that allow you to mess up NPCs and walk away with it. Other players were attacked by a guy with a guitar, others ruined a wedding proposal, some photobombed a group of dancers while others created a giant ramp right in the midst of the roads. The thing is, you mess u the NPCS and those who occupy the world of Watch Dogs 2 will definitely give you a reaction. So explore the city and do whatever it is you want to do.
Try To Be Non-Lethal
Even if the urge to draw a gun becomes so fierce when you are faced with an enemy, try to choose non-lethal methods to deal with your enemy. Firstly, because violence is not the goal of Watch Dogs 2. Second, going violent in this game is no fun and makes no sense at all. Besides, DedSec members are good-natured and it's against good-natured people to go around running with a gun.
Learn This Combo To Take Out Your Enemies
If you want to be effective with taking out the enemy, you have just one combo that you need to master to win against any enemy. The stun gun is pretty much effective when you have your shots right but your best lie on Marcus's melee move. How? Tap L1 whenever you see an enemy to buzz their phones or disrupt their comms. Once this is done, you can easily take them out with a taser or do the melee. However, this move is not likely to work if you get a ton of other enemies who will wreck your move.
Save Aiden Pearce
Back in 2014, Aiden Pearce is Watch Dog's main protagonists. He's sort-of back in San Francisco but he needs some saving since he has been captured by one of the gangs living in the area. This is how you will save him: find the in-game Shadow Side Operation then go and break him out of his prison. Aiden may not be very talkative, the best you can receive from him might be a nod. But still, it's important that he gets save since he will be the one to bring the fight to Blume following the ending of Watch Dogs.
Doing Major Quests Will Boosts Your Skill Points
The XP system of Watch Dogs 2 is dependent on the amount of followers you get. But instead of killing yourself by doing side missions, you can choose to do a major quest and drown yourself in skill points. When you do the major quests, you also get follower rewards in massive numbers. Take for example a four-stage main mission. The first three stages will give you at least 27,000 of followers and completing up the mission would give you as much as 400,000. Pretty cool, right? So focus on the big missions instead of smaller ones and earn the fruit of your labors with huge follower rewards.
Most Missions Need Your Brain Not Brawn
There are times when you need to enter into a locked gang hideout and you did everything to no avail. The secret? Try honking your RC car, let a gang member open it and quickly ran out of his sight to enter the unit. This is so much easier compared to shooting the door or calling the SWAT team and dying and once again playing the game back to where you were.
Missions are not very difficult to overcome if you know how to do it with wisdom. Drones can be used for scouting and traps. RC cars don't just drive you through vents, it can also help you avoid guards. You can weaponize your robots or use them to carry your intended game weapons. There are plenty of physical hacks you can do that Marcus does not even need to lift a finger most of the time to win. Just use your head and make use of the things that are already around you in the game.
