Type: Null is a Pokemon created by humans. It looks like a mash-up of different Pokemon; you can actually see a fish tail, scales, claws and other parts that do not belong. It cannot be encountered in the wild, but you will meet him every time you battle with Gladion. It is possible, though, to get one for yourself and to register it on the Pokedex.
How To Get Type: Null
The first thing to do is finish the main storyline of Pokemon Sun and Moon. A bunch of rare Pokemon will only be accessible to you once you beat the Pokemon League, including Type: Null and Cosmog, which has been discussed here.
Then, go to the Aether Paradise in a separate "island." It is actually a "very large floating structure" that houses Aether Foundation's research facilities. Once you land there, go up the elevator to second floor where the Conservation area is.
From the elevator, head straight. You will eventually see Gladion just hanging around in a balcony. Just talk to him and he will give you Type: Null. That's right, you don't need to battle it and try to catch it. You can easily obtain the very rare Pokemon provided that you beat the game first.
Type: Null
"The shapes of its front and hind legs are clearly different. The reason is that Type: Null was constructed to synthesize the strengths of various Pokémon, enabling it to adapt to any situation," the Pokemon Sun and Moon's official website reads. "The mask fitted to Type: Null's head is a piece of equipment designed to control its latent powers. It's extremely heavy, so it also serves to hinder Type: Null's agility."
The Type: Null Pokemon is quite strong. It has 534 base stats, with HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense all at 95 points. Its speed is quite low with 59 points, but that is due to the heavy gear. It is weak against Fighting types, but it is immune to Ghosts.
Type: Null Evolutions
Type: Null can become even stronger with friendship. This isn't some shounen cliché; it really does evolve with a high friendship score. When it destroys the restriction itself, it evolves into Silvally that can change types using Memory. A Bug Memory would turn it into Bug-type Pokemon, a Dark Memory would turn it into Dark-type Pokemon and so forth. Its colors change depending on its type.
With that said, base stats would have 95 points each since the restrictions are now gone. To easily get a Silvally, consider using a Soothe Bell and walking along patches of grass. It works by boosting the Happiness meter, which will then boost your chances of getting the evolution easily.
